What would Photobyjoy look like if it were a space? This question had to shape every image printed, every decoration chosen and every rug/plant hauled to the Swoon Event. My little team and I had a great time at Swoon this year. The couples who booked us last year from this show were incredibly playful and phenomenal to work with so we went full steam ahead.
Through the process of printing these pictures and picking out my favorites, I realized how many amazing weddings Photobyjoy had last year. I also realized how many genuine relationships I’ve grown with every single person in every single picture. One couple at the event picked a random photo and spontaneously asked for the couple’s story. Without even thinking about it- I could tell them how they met, a funny thing in their vows and what their dog’s name was.
That was a very affirming moment to me that what I did mattered relationally.
Also, because my tiny human is getting less and less tiny, I hired very cute muscle to help set up this booth. Aren’t they adorable? They also happen to be my best friends from Thailand. So that’s a plus.
Our goal was to create a colorful space couples could walk to an interact with. There were albums scattered everywhere you could flip through in your hands. There was a screen with our latest videos playing and a puzzle game that competitive brides went crazy over.
The booth was home to my lucky stormtrooper, a half dozen golden dinosaurs, a few deer, a 3D forest and a GIANT canvas of stubby-legged puppies. Fingers crossed that playful and fun couples find Photobyjoy this year!
